MPM B-Flex Barriers: Smarter Impact Protection for New Zealand Facilities

In busy industrial environments, it doesn’t take much for forklifts, pallets, or vehicles to cause costly damage. Walls, walkways, and critical infrastructure are constantly exposed to impact – and once damage occurs, repairs can disrupt operations and drive-up maintenance costs.

That’s where MPM B-Flex impactable barriers come in.

Installed by Ulti Group across New Zealand, this flexible PVC barrier system provides a practical, long-lasting solution for protecting people, assets, and buildings – without compromising space or aesthetics.

What Is the MPM B-Flex Barrier System?

The MPM B-Flex barrier is an impactable PVC protection system designed to absorb forklift, and pallet strikes while maintaining its shape and appearance overtime. Unlike traditional steel rails that bend or deform, the B-Flex system flexes on impact and returns to position, significantly extending its lifespan.

At approximately 100 mm thick, it provides a strong physical buffer while remaining compact enough for tight industrial spaces. Even after months of use in active environments, the system continues to look sharp and perform reliably.

Flexible Installation Options for Real-World Sites

No two facilities are the same – and the strength of the MPM B-Flex system lies in its versatility.

Wall-Mounted Bump Rail Protection

In tight applications, the barrier can be bolted directly into existing walls, creating an effective skid bump rail that protects wall surfaces from repeated forklift contact. This is ideal for narrow aisles, loading zones, and high-traffic internal routes.

Standalone Barriers with Steel Stands

For sites requiring separation between vehicles and pedestrians, the B-Flex system is also available with steel stands. Installed a metre or more away from walls, it helps create safer walkways while still offering robust impact protection.

Ground-Mounted Impact Protection Where It Matters Most

In addition to wall-mounted solutions, MPM also offers ground-mounted impactable protection designed to shield walls from direct forklift and pallet strikes at floor level. This is particularly effective in high-risk zones such as racking ends, loading bays, and storage areas.

Why Choose Impactable Barriers Over Traditional Steel?

Traditional steel barriers often show visible damage after impact – denting, bending, or requiring replacement. Impactable PVC barriers offer clear advantages:

  • Longer lifespan thanks to energy-absorbing flexibility
  • Reduced maintenance costs over time
  • Improved facility appearance, even in high-use areas
  • Enhanced safety for operators, pedestrians, and infrastructure

By absorbing impact rather than resisting it rigidly, the MPM B-Flex system delivers smarter, more sustainable protection.

Designed to Improve Safety – and How Your Facility Looks

Safety upgrades don’t need to look industrial or intrusive. The clean design of the MPM B-Flex barrier enhances the visual appearance of warehouses, distribution centres, and manufacturing facilities while clearly defining traffic routes and protected zones.

It’s a solution that supports WorkSafe-aligned safety outcomes while reinforcing a professional, well-maintained environment.
