Supporting customers from Auckland all the way to Cape Reinga takes someone who can keep a lot of moving parts organised, and do it with a smile. That’s Knuteson Simpkin’s day, most days.Â
In this edition of Behind the Door, we catch up with Knuteson Simpkin, Client Support Representative for our Auckland hub, to learn more about his role, what he enjoys most about working at Ulti Group, and what a typical day looks like behind the scenes.
Meet Knuteson Simpkin, Client Support Representative
Knuteson has been part of the Ulti Group team for just over two years, supporting customers across Auckland and the wider upper North Island.
As a Client Support Representative, he is often the first point of contact for customers, handling sales enquiries, coordinating service, and maintenance requests, and following each job from first call to completion.
“One of the things that I enjoy most about working at Ulti Group is the recognition and culture that is present within the work environment.”
From First Call to Job Complete Following Every Job Through
A big part of Knuteson’s role is making sure customers have a smooth experience when they work with Ulti Group.
From taking the initial call through to coordinating technicians and keeping customers informed along the way, his focus is on ensuring every job is managed efficiently and professionally.
One day Knuteson might be coordinating a service call in South Auckland; the next, following up on a job running near Whangarei. The Auckland’s hub patch is large and keeping everything moving takes focus.
Life Between Auckland and Kerikeri
Knuteson works in a hybrid role between our Auckland and Kerikeri hubs, giving him a unique perspective on supporting customers across the upper North Island.
His day typically starts with the Ops DMS – the operations team’s daily standup – where the previous day is reviewed, health and safety is discussed, and technician schedules are confirmed before the phones get busy.
The rest of the day is spent supporting customers, following up on jobs in progress, and helping ensure requests are actioned promptly.
Away From the Desk
When he’s not supporting customers, Knuteson keeps busy with a couple of hands-on hobbies – home brewing and golf. Both take patience and attention to detail, which probably explains, why he’s good at his job.
Looking ahead, Knuteson sees himself stepping into a CSR lead or service manager role within the next 5 years – a sign of what’s possible when you build the right experience across a region as wide as Auckland to Cape Reinga.
A Team Culture That Stands Out
When asked about his favourite Ulti Group memory so far, Knuteson highlighted Ulti Days, where team members from around New Zealand come together to connect, collaborate, and work towards shared goals.
For him, it’s a reflection of the culture that makes Ulti Group a rewarding place to work.
