Macaulay Motors – Modern Technology for Modern Architecture!

Macaulay Motors have been representing Southland and Central Otago for over 80 years and have recently undergone a new build for their Frankton Queenstown branch.

Nestled closely to the rugged Remarkable Mountain Range, is the new premises of this award-winning Ford & Mazda dealership.

This smart and modern building required two high speed sectional doors that blended with the architectural design, whilst meeting their operational requirements.

Being located in Frankton Queenstown, meant there were strict regulations around the style of architecture, but also exposure to extreme weather from bone chilling cold in the winter to sweltering heat in the summer –  they needed a  specialised door that would aid in the control of a comfortable working environment for their vehicle service technicians.

Macaulay Motors required…

High-speed sectional doors – to reduce the temperature loss during operation in the colder months.
Panoramic Panels – to let in natural light.
Double glazing of the Panoramic Panels- for additional insulation.
A stylish design – to meet their Councils regulations.

Ulti Group achieved this by supplying our Glazed Vertical Stacking Sectional Doors, custom made to meet Macaulay Motors requirements.

Ben Suckling, Senior Consultant at Ulti Group configured the design which included five double glazed panoramic panels, and two solid insulated panels per door. All incorporated without reducing the overall operational speed and ensured that the natural light wasn’t blocked.
